Ratings: Broadcast Finals for March 5, 2013

First it was the BIG BANG THEORY now it is NCIS. AMERICAN IDOL has now lost to two programs, in the A18-49 demo ratings, over the past year. NCIS posted a 3.4 demo rating in the 8 p.m. hour, while AMERICAN IDOL only managed a 3.2 for the hour (based on fast affiliate ratings). This is the first time the CBS drama beat the FOX talent show in the A18-49 demo ratings.

We all assume that FOX will get at least one or two more years out of AI, but t this rate, you have to wonder if FOX may be forming plans to go without AMERICAN IDOL in 2014?

NBC hit an all time low with its tuesday line up. It averaged JUST a 1.0 demo ratings and a pathetic 3 million viewer average, when rounded up. These are numbers we use to associate with The CW. In fact, if The CW does change directions next year and open up the programming, It may not be a big leap to say that NBC is a 5th place network.

And, lets not overlook ABC, which is easy to do when you have the mess NBC has become. CELEBRITY WIFE SWAP dropped 43% in viewers and 37% in the demo ratings, from last week's season premiere. THE TASTE dropped to a series low, off by 56% in viewers and 43% in the demo from its January 22 series premiere. BODY OF PROOF is doing everything it can to stay even over the  three weeks it has been back on the air, with the continued erosion form its lead in.

As much as AMERICAN IDOL has declined, FOX on Tuesday was up 220% in viewers and 100% in the demo ratings, from last Tuesday. with the comedy line up. It still draws viewers and still packs a punch.

For the Night:

FOX - 11.7 million viewers, 3.5 rating in Adults 18-49

CBS - 15.5 million viewers, 2.6 rating in Adults 18-49

ABC - 4.6 million viewers, 1.3 rating in Adults 18-49

NBC - 3.0 million viewers, 1.0 rating in Adults 18-49

CW - 1.1 million viewers, 0.5 rating in Adults 18-49
