Ratings: Broadcast Finals for March 27, 2013

As the day light extends longer into the evening and the weather gets warmer, broadcast program ratings will be come smaller and smaller. Of the 15 prime time programs, on the five networks, only one (AMERICAN IDOL - 12.3) drew over 10 million viewers. Only two more drew over 9 million (SURVIVOR-9.4 and MODERN FAMILY-9.1). Eight programs drew under 6 million viewers, but only one of those was a repeat episode. Two series A18-49 ratings over a 3.0 (AMERICAN IDOL - 3.2 and MODERN FAMILY - 3.2) and only the addition of SURVIVOR (2.5) posted over a 2.0 rating.

Unfortunately, this will be the state of the rating until the end of the season. A few season/series finales may bump up, here and there. It is best to look at the numbers relative to each other and not just the raw numbers themselves. So, AMERICAN IDOL did dominate the night, but it is a far cry from where it was, even just one year earlier.

For the Night:
FOX - 12.3 million viewers, 3.2 rating in Adults 18-49
CBS - 7.3 million viewers, 1.7 rating in Adults 18-49
ABC - 6.2 million viewers, 1.9 rating in Adults 18-49
NBC - 5.5 million viewers, 1.5 rating in Adults 18-49
CW - 2.4 million viewers, 1.0 rating in Adults 18-49
