Ratings: Broadcast Finals for March 25, 2013

THE VOICE came back to life with a vengeance. The new king of Singing competition series posted a 4.8 rating in Adults 18-49 and drew 13.6 million viewers. That tops the fall premiere by by 14% (4.2) in the demo ratings and 11% (12.28) in viewership. THE VOICE also doubled the average ratings that THE BIGGEST LOSER had been getting over the last couple of months. NBC is back on the ratings map.

REVOLUTION also returned after a four month hiatus. but not to the success THE VOICE received. The adventure drama pulled in seven million viewers and a 2.6 demo rating, enough to win the hour in the A18-49 ratings, but third in viewership. The series was also down 18% in viewers (8.54) and 10% in the demo ratings (2.9). The hiatus hurt the series, but the series was declining as it was before its fall finally in November. Unless it falls to third place, in the A18-49 ratings, before the end of the season, REVOLUTION will get renewed for a second season.

With the return of THE VOICE, everything else on CBS, ABC and FOX took a down turn.  Here is how a few of the shows faired, week-to-week.

• HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER - down 10% in the demo ratings and 8% in viewership.
• BONES - down 8% in viewers and 9% in the demo. 
• DANCING WITH THE STARS - down 15% in viewers, 25% in the demo ratings.

The CBS 9:00 p.m. comedies were up slightly from last week.

Network averages for Monday:

NBC - 11.4 million viewers, 4.1 rating in Adults 18-49. 

ABC - 13.2 million viewers, 2.3 rating in Adults 18-49. 

CBS - 8.0 million viewers, 2.5 rating in Adults 18-49. 

FOX - 6.8 million viewers, 2.1 rating in Adults 18-49. 

CW - 0.6 million viewers, 0.3 rating in Adults 18-49.
