Ratings: Broadcast Finals for March 19, 2013
It was all new episodes and programs on the big four networks and CBS comes out on top with the most viewers and the highest A18-49 ratings of the night.
The two NCIS series came beck with the nights top two numbers in both viewers and A18-49 ratings. The Veteran NCIS (3.2) was the only program over a 3.0 A18-49 rating, with a 3.1 mark.
GOLDEN BOY was up, slightly, from last week's performance. Up 8 % in viewers and 13% in the demo is a good sign, but the new series is still in the same ratings neighborhood as previous occupant, VEGAS.
Sparking a little competition at 10 p.m. was BODY OF PROOF. the improved lead in boosted its numbers 25% in both viewers and A18-49 ratings. If given a chance and exposure, the series could thrive just as well as CASTLE.
Earlier in the evening, for ABC, was the series premiere of SPLASH. It pulled in 9.0 million viewers and a decent 2.6 demo rating. That is 3 million more viewers than THE TASTE drew in its series opener (Jan 21) and 2 million more viewers than CELEBRITY WIFE SWAP did just three weeks earlier, for its season premiere. However, the real test will come next week. We'll see how many will stick around for another Splash.
THe CW didn't get much traction in the Justin Timberlake special. Just one million viewers tuned in for the hour long special. It is better than what a repeat episode would pull, but is down about 35% from a typical HART OF DIXIE original episode.
