Ratings: Broadcast Finals for February 27, 2013
The one shinning light at NBC just got a little brighter Wednesday night as CHICAGO FIRE topped CSI in the A18-49 demo ratings (2.0 to 1.9), with regular lead in programming intact. Chicago is now in the conversation for top new program of the year, in a year without any breakout programs. But, to be a true hit, CHICAGO FIRE does need to back up that demo rating with more total viewers. Otherwise, its just another THE OFFICE, and we are seeing how that is turning out.
We may be seeing the beginning of the end for CSI. Ratings have been below par this month and it is struggling to keep the #1 spot for the hour. It still had a dominate edge in total viewers over CHICAGO FIRE (9.4 vs 6.6 million), but it needs to pump up the demo ratings. Unless the development season produces some great dramas, CSI should get one last season in 2013-14.
SURVIVOR is slowly starting to get some momentum behind it as the word of mouth of another good season is spreading. The 26th edition has grown by 8% in the demo, since the February 13 season premiere. It should see 10 million and a 3.0 demo rating before the spring drop hits sometime over the next month or so.
