Ratings: Broadcast Finals for February 15, 2013
Friday night viewership was down from the previous week and CBS was the network hardest hit by procrastinated Valentine's Day dates.
CBS was down across the board. The hardest it was CSI: NY. The series was down 12% in viewers and 25% in the A18-49 ratings from just a week ago. Plus, it is down nearly 2 million viewers over the last two weeks. The Job is down 16% in viewership and 22% in the demo ratings. Has spring come early for Friday night viewing? Or, are viewers changing the channel now that UNDERCOVER BOSS is not on the air? We will know this Friday when UB returns early now that THE JOB is gone.
ABC was also saw significant drops on Friday, but SHARK TANK was not affected. The reality program drew it's usual 6.5 million viewers and 1.8 demo rating. It is a solid entry for the night and has been the only real program to challenge, and win, CBS on the night, in recent years.
On FOX, TOUCH lost over 30% of its viewership and A18-49 ratings, from last week's season premiere. Are viewers completely disinterested in a softer, kindler Kiefer Sutherland? Should TOUCH be cancelled now, sine it go it worse numbers than THE JOB?
The CW saw a major drop in viewership, but the only thing that can be blamed is the scheduling department. The 2009 theatrical movie PAPER HEART ran instead of NIKITA and an encore of THE CARRIE DIARIES. The night was down 40% in viewership and 50% in the demo rating. By the last half hour, viewership was down to near 400,000 viewers. Why The CW aired a movie that bombed at the box office ($1.2 million total gross) is beyond me. I am guessing the only people that tuned into this move were the ones that actually PAID to see the movie in theaters.
You know it is a bad night when NBC's ROCK CENTER is not even close to being one of the worst rated programs of the evening. 4.8 million viewers and a 1.1 demo rating is not horrible for the network, on this night.
For the Night...
ABC - 6.1 million viewers, 1.5 rating in Adults 18-49.
NBC - 6.1 million viewers, 1.2 rating in Adults 18-49.
CBS - 7.5 million viewers, 1.1 rating in Adults 18-49.
FOX - 2.9 million viewers, 0.9 rating in Adults 18-49.
CW - 0.6 million viewers, 0.2 rating in Adults 18-49.
