Ratings: Broadcast Finals for February 13, 2013
The CW pulled in one of its strongest nights of the new year, lead by ARROW, which tied NBC for the 8:00 p.m. hour. The freshman superhero series pulled in 3.3 million viewers and a 1.1 rating in adults 18-49. That strong lead in helped 10 year veteran series SUPERNATURAL to one of its better nights with 2.5 million viewers and a 1.0 demo rating. This is a good one-two punch by the small network and if they can build of this success, then all is not lost for the CW.
CBS had a rough night. SURVIVOR: CARAMOAN drew the smallest season premiere audience for the franchise. Just under 9 million viewers and a 2.4 demo rating over the 90 minute program. Why CBS did not leave the opening episode at 2 hours is a little baffling. THE BIG BANG THEORY encore just did not work as a bridge between SURVIVOR and CSI. The ratings for the comedy repeat were low (5.2 million and a 1.4 demo rating), but they hurt lead out CSI, as it scored a series low performance (8.5 million, 1.9 demo).
NBC's one bright spot, CHICAGO FIRE, took advantage of CBS' mistake and gave a strong 2nd place performance with 6.7 million viewers and a 1.9 demo. This series scores well when CBS is not at the top of its game. And last night CBS was not at the top of its game.
- MODERN FAMILY collected the night best ratings in both categories.
- SUBURGATORY can boast that it beat THE BIG BANG THEORY, head-to-head.
For the night...
FOX - 13.5 million viewers, 4.3 demo rating
CBS - 8.2 million viewers, 2.1 demo rating
ABC - 6.8 million viewers, 2.2 demo rating
NBC - 5.4 million viewers, 1.5 demo rating
CW - 2.9 million viewers, 1.5 demo rating
