Ratings: Broadcast Finals for February 6, 2013
AMERICAN IDOL dominated the night, pulling in over 14 million viewers and a 4.6 demo rating. That represents a loss of about 1.5 million viewers and 16% in the demo ratings from just last Wednesday.
Also down was MODERN FAMILY. Its 9.8 million viewers and 3.8 demo rating is a drop of about 900,00 viewers and 10% in the demo, from its last original episode, two weeks ago. Yes, the increase competition from AMERICAN IDOL is a factor, but inconsistency with the quality of the comedy may also be a factor.
CHICAGO FIRE also the numbers fall from a week ago, by roughly 10%. But, they are down from the series high on January 2, 2013, by 2 million viewers and 21% in the A18-49 ratings. Don't get me wrong, CHICAGO FIRE is and will be a keeper for NBC. But it still has a long way before can be called anything close to being a hit series.
The CSI crossover episode did not seem to generate any extra interest as ratings remain at season average levels.
NASHVILLE fighting for its life as it finishes third for the hour, in both categories.
