Top 40 Weekly Cable Ratings: Week of 01/14/13

With football season over, regular programming is back to normal and the top 40 chart more reflective of the daily viewing habits.

WWE RAW is the weeks top program as all three hours, rated separately, place in the top 4 spots. 4.5 million viewers tuned in to wrestling now that football is done.

The broadcast networks may not be able to program viewers on Fridays, but Discovery can. GOLD RUSH beat all five network programs, except UNDERCOVER BOSS,  in Adults 18-49 with a 1.8 rating. Perhaps the CW or NBC should take note of this.

BET may have hit on its hands as the series premiere of REAL HUSBANDS OF HOLLYWOOD generated 4.2 million viewers and the week's top demo rating of 2.1. I suspect the new spin on Bravo's HOUSEWIVES format attracts beyond the target demographics of BET.

And finally, OPRAH'S NEXT CHAPTER, featuring the two part interview with Lance Armstrong did well for the network, but was Luke-warm at best when playing with the big boys. Part 1 aired on Thursday night and drew 3.2 million viewers and a 1.2 demo rating, ranking 22nd for the week. However, interest was gone as only 1.8 million viewers tuned in for the second night. Friday's interview ranked just 119th.
