Ratings: Broadcast Finals for January 11, 2013

CBS wins Friday night with all three shows taking the top three spots in viewers and three of the top four spots in the A18-49 demo ratings.

Viewership grew each hour for CBS with the top program of the night, BLUE BLOODS pulling in 11.2 million viewers. For the night, CBS averaged 10.34 million viewers and a 1.67 in the demo ratings. CBS edged ABC in the demo by 0.02 of a ratings point.

ABC did grab the top program of the night in the demo ratings. SHARK TANK posted a 2.0 rating in the desirable key demographic. However, the most watched program on ABC was the sophomore sitcom LAST MAN STANDING, which drew 6.89 million viewers. Just 200k more then SHARK TANK.

I am not sure of this strategy by NBC of using comedy repeats to fill the 8 p.m. hour. The ratings are bad, given the demographics of those viewers that stay home on Friday nights. Why not keep repeats of GRIMM on the night. Those numbers are not strong either, bu they are an improvement to what GO and 1600 PENN have posted the last two weeks.
