Complete Nielsen Ratings: Week of 01/07/13
The full Nielsen rankings and ratings from #1 to #102:
It is almost an understatement to say that CBS dominates the ratings this week. Not only did they lead in both total viewers (13.3 million) and in Adults 18-49 (3.3 rating), but they captured 16 of the top 20 programs of the week. The only programs from CBS not making the top 30 chart were the all-repeat Monday night shows and their regular Saturday night programs.
FOX was second for thew week on the strength of the prime time coverage of the NFL Playoff game between Green Bay and San Francisco on Saturday night. The 30.1 million viewers and a11.1 demo rating was enough place 3rd for the week. However, the next highs ranked FOX program was FAMILY GUY at #42. Good thing AMERICAN IDOL is coming back this week.
NBC has now started the decent back to reality. It finished 3rd in both measured categories, just edging out ABC. The 2013 GOLDEN GLOBES (#6) was the only top 20 program from the network, but it did dominate Sunday Night viewing.
ABC, again, came in 4th place. It does not have the Home Run hitter like the other three networks. MODERN FAMILY only placed 11th for the week and GREY'S ANATOMY finished in 20th place.
The week was filled with special programming, mainly awards shows, lead by The Golden Globes which drew 19.7 million viewers and an impressive 6.4 demo rating. CBS did decent with the PEOPLE CHOICE AWARDS on Wednesday night, grabbing 9.6 million viewers and a 2.6 demo rating, placing 18th for the week. Leading into the PCAs on CBS was a new edition of I GET THAT A LOT. The hidden camera show ranked 28th with 7.8 million viewers and a solid 2.0 demo rating.
On the flip side of success with specials was FOX and their CELEBRITIES IN DANGER: HIGH DIVE special. The uninteresting 2 hour program pulled in just 3.4 million viewers and a tiny 0.9 demo rating. However that was better than the 3 million viewers ABC received for its coverage of the MISS AMERICA PAGENT on Saturday night. Yea, there is a reason its on Saturday night.
And finally, The CW had an awards special this week. THE CRITICS CHOICE MOVIE AWARDS aired on Thursday night and did grab 1.9 million viewers and a 0.6 demo rating. compared to the repeat programs a week earlier, the special grew 96% in viewers and 100% in the demo ratings.
