Ratings: Broadcast Finals for December 17, 2012
Monday night pitted CBS vs NBC as both FOX and ABC didn't do very much on the night and The CW is, well... The CW.
THE VOICE was the most watched program on Monday night with 13.37 million viewers and a 4.2 demo rating for 90 minutes. Not a strong as it was doing earlier in the season, but dominate none the less. That led into a special premiere of the sitcom 1600 PENN. Based on the ratings, NBC has yet to find a breakout comedy hit. 1600 PENN lost nearly 50% of both the viewers and the 18-49 demo. Things will only get worse once it hits Thursday nights.
CBS wins the night in both viewers and demo ratings as the two hours of comedies post solid numbers. Between the one hour HIMYM, 2 BROKE GIRLS and MIKE & MOLLY, CBS averaged 9.6 million viewers and a 3.4 demo rating. Since DWTS closed out, CBS has been stronger on Monday nights.
GOSSIP GIRL closed out its 5 year run on Monday night, drawing its best numbers of the season. 1.55 million viewers saw the close of the series. Not impressive numbers, even by CW standards, but at least it went out on an up note instead of losing viewers from the week previous.
