Ratings: Broadcast Finals for December 9, 2012
NBC's SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL is the only program that excited viewers as it dominated the night with 21.4 million viewers and a 7.8 rating in Adults 18-49. This was an increase of one million viewers and a 0.4 rating in the demo from last week's match up involving the Cowboys.
CBS was flat with the season finale of THE AMAZING RACE. At 9.35 million viewers and a 2.6 demo rating, the Emmy winning program was DOWN from the previous week. This series may need some time off by skipping the spring and starting fresh again, in the fall of 2013.
ABC didn't make much of a dent in the ratings with its combination of home movies, kids holiday specials and the Christmas themed HALLMARK HALL OF FAME movie CHRISTMAS WITH HOLLY. The fell good movie did attract 7.7 million viewers, but the demo rating of 1.8 is a considerable drop from the regular programing on Sunday nights.
Finally, over on FOX, the network got a nice bump from the NFL Overrun into prime time. THE SIMPSONS managed 7.4 million viewers and a 3.4 demo rating (placing it as the #4 program in the demo). But after THE SIMPSONS, the numbers went flat for FOX. FAMILY GUY couldn't even manage to get a 3.0 rating in the demo, something it use to have no problem getting.
