TV Ad Rate History: THE OFFICE
Over the last seven seasons, THE OFFICE has been a roller coaster ride in the Ad Market. One season they charge more than the previous season, the next, it less than the previous season. Not one instance of consecutive season growth for the comedy. However, once Steve Carell left the series, they did have back to back drops in ad rates.
Time will tell the staory and legacy of THE OFFICE, but I dod not see it holding up and being in the same class as the classic comedies of the past like SEINFELD, DICK VAN DYKE SHOW or even I LOVE LUCY.
