Ratings: Broadcast Finals for October 8, 2012
The CW had its Monday night premiere, but know one really cared and decided to watch THE VOICE.
Both 90210 and GOSSIP GIRL tanked, even by CW standards, in the rqatings as neither series could push over the one million viewer mark. GOSSIP GIRL's ratings (780k and a 0.4 demo rating) were worse than those from the summer game show series OH SIT!
This is where the CW's strategy of focusing on one demographic really kills them. Now that THE VOICE is in the mix, most of its viewers have fled to the singing competition series. What the CW needs now is a couple of hours of male focused programming. Something as an alternative.
For ABC, it looks like the bleeding as stopped for DANCING WITH THE STARS. Viewership was up 10% from the week before and the demo was up by 0.1 of a ratings point. CASTLE was also up from last week, mostly in the 18-49 demo. ABC still needs to work on getting the numbers back up, but they must feel better now that the free fall is over.
For the third straight week, THE MOB DOCTOR set an all time ratings low for the series. Now, it has finally sunk below a 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic. The death nail is in and we should have seen the last of the series. I do not expect it to return after the MLB Playoffs are over, on FOX.
