Ratings: Broadcast Finals for September 23, 2012

NFL on CBSNFL football was the dominate force on Sunday night. Whether it is CBS overrun games pumping up 60 MINUTES or SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL, it is the program to have in prime time.

Both games drew an 8.7 rating, but the CBS overrun collected almost three million more viewers. Those numbers lead into an above average rating for 60 MINUTES, even against THE EMMY AWARDS. 12.6 million viewers and a 2.7 demo rating game it 4th place for the night.

THE EMMY AWARDS did well on Sunday, drawing  13.3 million viewers and a solid 3.9 rating in Adults 18-49. However, the red carpet special at 7:00pm did next to nothing. I think the "spectacle of Hollywood stars is over. We can see them just about every day through some sort of social networking or gossip TV program.
