Ratings: Broadcast Finals for September 18, 2012

The New NormalBefore we dive into week #2 of NBC's early season start, let look at the rest of the night.

We may have seen the last of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. It's worst season ever and a season finale that was flat. Just 4.7 million viewers and a 1.6 rating in A18-49. It had a good series run, but it is the time to move on and find another summer series.

CBS got some nice returns from its two NCIS franchise series. NCIS is  only the second program of the night over 10 million viewers. They are even with FOX for 2nds place in Adults 18-49, despite repeats vs. original finale.

Now to NBC. The network is doing fine with premiering its line up two weeks early, so lets compare week one with week two.

ParenthoodTHE VOICE (Tues) - Up 2.2 million viewers and 18% in A18-49 ratings.
GO ON - Down just 5% in total viewers, even in the demo ratings with a 3.4
THE NEW NORMAL - Off 13% in viewership and down 12% in the demo ratings.
PARENTHOOD - Just a 9% drop in viewers and a 0.1 rating in A18-49.

The only concern, so far, is THE NEW NORMAL. it is about to drop below 6 million viewers and next week it will have a lot tougher competition. Of course, this could be said about all of the NBC line up.
