Complete Nielsen Ratings: Week of 08/27/12
The full Nielsen rankings and ratings from #1 to #94:
It is not too often we get to highlight this, especially in September, but ABC Saturday College Football placed in the top five for the week. The season premiere game pulled in 7.9 million viewers (#4) and a the week's top rating in Adults 18-49, with a 3.0. With exception of the Olympics, you have to go back to the NFL Playoffs to see a Saturday night program rank so high in the weekly ratings.
On the flip side, the season premiere of FOX's Pac-12 Football coverage looked worse than a typical Saturday night. Their game pull a tiny 1.8 million viewers and a 0.6 demo rating. It was actually in the bottom five of non-CW programs for the week.
CBS was the most watched network of the week, placing 15 programs in the top 25. The strength of its comedies, Big Brother and NCIS are just too much for the other networks to keep up for total viewers.
The remainder of the ten remaining programs in the top 25, NBC claimed five, with AMERICA'S GOT TALENT taking spots #1 and #3. FOX, powered by Gordon Ramsey, placed all three of his series in the top 25. ABC's only other entry near the top of the charts was a repeat of 20/20 at #25.
With only a few weeks left, ION continues to dominate the CW during the summer of 2012. ION attracted over 400,00 more viewers for the week, tied the CW in the 18-49 demo ratings and was seen in 300,000 more homes. For the 2011-12 season, ION is within 350,00 viewers of the CW's average. With just three weeks left, It is unlikely that ION can pull a head of The CW for the 52 week season.
