The Watching Dead: The Worst of Friday & Saturday TV Ratings (Aug. 3-4)
The London Summer Olympics are just dominating the ratings. Almost nothing elese is generation any kind of interest or numbers during the week. Friday and Saturday viewing is no different, if not even worse.
The Dead of Friday Night:
FOX at 8:00pm is completely dead. just 1.6 million viewers thought it would be a better entertainment choice of the Olympics. It is the only program from the BIG 4 networks not to attract at least two million viewers. The top non-Olympics program of the night was with the dead.
Two hours of 20/20 managed to hold about 3.3 million viewers. I wonder... Did they feature anything from the Olympic games?
The Dead of Saturday Night:
As expected everything from ABC, CBS and FOX was dead, so lets start with ABC. ABC featured the horrible theatrical movie NORBIT from 8pm - 10pm. Over the two hours it averaged less than two million viewers. at 10pm, CASTLE was just as dead with 2.2 million viewers.
CBS was burning off more episodes of NYC 22. The 8pm episode was #2 for the hour, behind the Olympics, with 2.5 million viewers. The 9pm episode increased just 250K in viewership, but maintained its #2 ranking. 48 HOURS MYSTER was the tops of the night with about 3.4 million viewers. That was around 27 million less than the Olympics got for the 10pm hour.
FOX scheduled an UFC bout to go up against the olympics, but was punched dead in the mouth. About 2.1 million viewers saw grown men fight in the octagon. Unfortunately, they were part of the Watching Dead this weekend.
