Complete Nielsen Ratings: Week of 08/13/12
The full Nielsen rankings and ratings from #1 to #92:
With the Olypics over, FOX takes the 18-49 Demo crown, while NBC edges CBS for the most viewers.
It was expected that NBC would come back down to reality, but it seems to have gotten no residual effect from the Olympics. It barely beats out CBS for the most viewers (5.25 million vs. 5.13 million) and is edged out by FOX in the demo ratings (1.6 vs 1.5). AMERICA'S GOT TALENT is still the most watched program of the week, but compared to numbers in late June, the Wednesday edition is down about 20% in both viewers and demo ratings. Are viewers tired of the show with the extended length of the season? Are viewers siding with Sharon Osbourne over how NBC treated Jack? or, is Howard stern and/or Howie Mandel turning off viewers?
ABC did not have a good week. They act like the Olympics is still on NBC. Their weekly viewer average is up only 600k, while CBS added over a million viewers and FOX two million. They only managed one program in the top 20, WIPEOUT, with 5.2 million viewers.
CBS did very well with its repeat line up. After NBC taking the top three spots, CBS takes nine of the next ten slots, with all three editions of BIG BROTHER in the mix.
In the demo ratings, AGT and HELL'S KITCHEN are moving in opposite directions. As their season finales approach, HELL'S KITCHEN is gaining momentum and adding viewership in the 18-49 demographic. AMERICA'S GOT TALENT is starting to slow down like a marathon runner in the 24th mile. Next week's ratings could see AGT topped by Gordon Ramsey, at least once, if not twice.
Its another weekly win for ION over the CW. ION out drew the CW in all categories. Viewers (1.1 million vs. 0.73 million) demographic viewers (360k vs 350k) and households (860k vs 530k). in the 2011-12 season to date ratings, ION is within 38,000 viewers of the CW average. With five weeks left in the 2011-12 season, ION may have just enough juice to edge the CW in total viewership over the 12 month period.
