Ratings Review: ROB!

¡ROB! could have been, at the very least, the next RULES OF ENGAEMENT, or even the next GEORGE LOPEZ SHOW. But the writing just didn't deliver up to the level of the cast and characters of the show. CBS truly missed out on a great opportunity to establish its self with the Latina audience.

It is always a double edged sword when your lead in is the Biggest comedy on TV. Yes, you have a great lead in and your numbers will be very good, but if the retention levels are not up to snuff, then you will not get another chance. ¡ROB! had great numbers, but losing 30-40 percent of the Audience THE BIG BANG THEORY delivered ultimately hurt it. Not once did ¡ROB! have ratings bigger than the previous week. A drop of 34% from its premiere to its last episode.

The only chance, I believe, ¡ROB! had of surviving for a second season was if CBS had plans to expand programing with the Latina audiences. Paring it with another comedy with a Hispanic setting. A second comedy would have been perfect and Fridays at 8:00pm would work. But, we will never know.
