Ratings Review: GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS

After a great season, both entertainment and ratings, last year, GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS hit a major bump as the ratings fell roughly 40-50 percent from last summer's episodes and about 67 percent from the wedding episode in October of 2011. For this summer 2012 season, GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS averaged 1.07 million viewers and a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic.

I believ that the ratings are down because of all the emotion and drama from last season's wedding episodes. There was dynamic, real drama, with a very happy ending. In comparison, this season was dull. The adoption story line just didn't grab viewers as the relationship issues and wedding did last year.

Next season, needs to go back to the basics. Let the family have fun, let Gene look like a goof and leave the "Drama" behind.
