The Watching Dead: The Worst of Friday & Saturday TV Ratings (June 15-16)

Friday and Saturday night ratings are usually pretty bad. Most of the time, hardly anyone home is watching network TV. In the summer time, this becomes even worse. This new feature will look at the Watching Dead. Dead programming that is still being programed on network TV.

Every night in the summer, for the CW, is the Watching Dead, so we will not further pick on them in this feature.

The Dead of Friday Night:
COMMUNITY and WHITNEY are the epitome of the Watching Dead. those small regular season numbers are amplified with repeats on Fridays. COMMUNITY scored a mere 1.65 million viewers. The worst numbers of the night, from the big four. WHITNEY didn't do much better. Its was only 1/2 million more viewers.

Over on FOX, the numbers were not much better. Both HOUSE and BONES repeats averaged about 2.15 million viewers. Just imagine if FOX aired FRINGE repeats on this night. Things would be even worse... A lot worse.

The Dead of Saturday Night:
What good comes from airing the remainder of the produced episodes of HOW TO BE A GENTLEMAN? Is there a clause in the licensing that requires CBS to air the episodes before September 2012? Did Les Moonves lose a bet with The CW executives and must find a way to score ratings WORSE than the CW? 1.45 million viewers is a bad number for the CW, let alone CBS.

I really thought the MLB on FOX, in prime-time, would do a lot better than it has done. The only silver lining that could come from the games is if it has a strong Male 18-49 demographic rating. Overall viewership was just over 3 million.
