Complete Nielsen Ratings: Week of 06/18/12

The full Nielsen rankings and ratings from #1 to #90:

Under 4 million viewers for premiere
There is Good & Bad, Ying & Yang, NBA Finals & THE GLASS HOUSE. As great as ABC benefited from the highly rated NBA Finals, it also was given a blow to the much hyped, and litigated, reality series THE GLASS HOUSE.

The Good: The NBA Finals ended Thursday with a series high 18.46 million viewers and a 7.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Easily the number on program in all categories. The five game series averaged 16.9 million viewers and a 7.1 demo rating. the best in nearly a decade.

The Bad: ABC won the court battle, but lost in the ratings war. a mere 3.98 million viewers cared enough to watch the premiere of THE GLASS HOUSE. It was third in its 10pm time period, losing to Comedy encores on CBS and AMERICA NINJA WARRIOR on NBC. Lets see if THE GLASS HOUSE will complete its summer run before the glass shatters.

How bad are the ratings this summer? Not counting the NBA Finals, there were just four programs to attract over 8 million viewers. AMERICA'S GOT TALENT, NCIS, THE BIG BANG THEORY and 60 MINUTES. It is time for the networks to change their business model and begin aggressively program the summer season, like they did in the 50's & 60's.

  1. Yikes for ABC's "The Glass House." ABC should consider picking up CTV Canada's 3rd season of "The Listener" to replace it. "The Listener" is garnering over a million viewers a week up here in Canada - in a country of 33 million people. That would be equivalent to over 10 million a week in the USA. "The Listener" has improved so much over the last couple of years too....in storylines and ratings. It's one of the most watched homegrown shows, nationally, right now.

  2. I agree. THE GLASS HOUSE is a ratings turkey. But, when you look at what ABC has given us this summer, that is par for the course.
