Complete Nielsen Ratings: Week of 04/16/12
In the last full week before the May sweeps period, CBS was still the #1 network in total viewers (8.2 million) with 13 of its 22 hours of programing being in repeats. Six of CBS' programs airing repeats did make the top 30, lead by NCIS: LA at #9.
ABC was in second place (7.7 million), in total viewers, but it took having 18.5 of its 22 hours of its programing in original episodes. The beefed up schedule did net ABC 8 programs in the top 30. That was second to CBS' 16 shows.
FOX was the top network in thew 18-49 demographic, with a 0.3 rating points over 2nd place ABC. Lead by AMERICAN IDOL (#1, 4.8 rating) FOX placed six shows in the top 30 of the demographic chart. ABC put nine programs on the chart, while CBS topped them all with 10 programs in the top 30. NBC was not completely out of the running. It did place 5 of its shows on the chart.
