Over the Weekend: March 23 - 25, 2012
FRINGE returned Friday evening with little fanfare or
viewers. The 3rd year sci-fi series drew just 2.9 million viewers and a
0.9 demo rating, in the fast affiliate ratings. A fourth season is
doubtful.
NCAA Tournament Basketball posts nice weekend numbers, earning an average of 10.2 million viewers and a 3.4 demo rating on Saturday night. "Elite 8" round focuses the ratings onto one network, CBS.
A HAWAII FIVE-0 encore benefited with a good numbers because of the NCAA Game lead in. a 1.6 demo rating, for a Saturday night repeat, is really good.
Little else was working on Saturday night.
NBC most watched drama, HARRY'S LAW drew just over 8 million viewers, but can't even pull in a 1.0 demo rating. Renewal will depend on what is more important to NBC. 8-9 million viewers or a 1.8 demo rating?
GCB is settling at under 7 million viewers and just a 2.2 demo rating. ABC is having an off year, but are those numbers good enough for a 2nd season? Unfortunately, I think so.
