Complete Nielsen Ratings for Week of 03/05/2012
The battle between THE VOICE and AMERICAN IDOL was a split decision last week. THE VOICE took the 18-49 demo crown with #1 rating of 6.2, compared to AMERICAN IDOL's demo numbers of 5.7 (Wed) and 4.9 (Thur). AMERICAN IDOL wat the top two shows in total viewers pulling 18.7 on Wednesday and 17.27 on Thursday. THE VOICE came in third with 16.85 million viewers
CBS Thursday is fast becoming "Must See TV." All four programs finished in the top 10, in viewers. It would have done the same in the demo, but THE MENTALIST came in 11th. Freshmen hit drama PERSON OF INTEREST posted series high last week.
For the second week in a row, The CW fell to ION-TV in two of the three weekly categories. ION bested the CW in households (940k vs. 830k) and in total viewers (1.21 million vs 1.07 million). The CW did edge ION in the 18-49 demo (0.4 vs 0.3)
