POLL: Does Conan O'Brien have the power and audience to solidify FOX in Late Night TV, as Letterman Did for CBS?

Now that Conan O'Brien has signed off of THE TONIGHT SHOW, FOX seems like the logical choice for COCO to continue working in late night. If FOX and Conan were to launch a Late Night Talker, would FOX have a stable and long running late night franchise? Can Conan do for FOX what Letterman did for CBS? He doesn't have to win in the ratings, just do well enough to make money for all involved. So, here is our poll question:

Does Conan O'Brien have the power and audience to solidify FOX in Late Night TV, as Letterman Did for CBS?

RESULTS:

  1. If Conan does go to FOX, he can and will do better than both Joan RIvers and Chevy Chase did in Late Night. He should get ratings compairable to what he was doing on NBC, if he gets the clearence from the affiliates.

I think he will start a franchise for FOX in Late Night, just as Letterman did for CBS. NBC is the best farm system for the other networks late night programming. If NBC had made correct decissions in the 90's, neither CBS or FOX would ever have a foot hold in Late Night.

Jimmy Kimmel could also benefit from a FOX/Conan show starting at 11pm. Afterwards, those viewers have a program to watch, from start to finish at midnight, instead of jumping around in the middle of programs.

  2. Who cares? Start posting what brings people here...your USA TODAY 80's-90's Nielsen ratings.

BTW...both the Chevy Chase Show and The Joan Rivers's show were both well over scoring 2.0's by the time of their respective cancellations.
