NFL Football on a Friday... Christmas Day?
Of all the years I have watched NFL football, i don't ever remember them having a scheduled Friday Night Game. Just because it was Christmas Day does not mean the NFL needs to play a game. This schedule also prevents the NFL from having Saturday games on CBS and FOX. In fact, this is the first year in quite a while that the NFL will not have ANY late season Saturday games. The NFL is hurting the fans and the broadcast networks with its effort to prop up the NFL Network. As a BIG NFL fan, I would much rather see Saturday games then a crappy Christmas Day game, on a Friday.

FOX and Time Warner Cable butt heads as Deadline approaches:
Time Warner Cable is on a mission to keep the subscriber rates as low as possible, especially from the FREE broadcast networks and stations. Last year, TWC and Bright House Networks customers were at odds with both LIN Station Group and MTV Networks. The MTV Deal was settled without a disruption in airing the networks, but the LIN TV battle did last a month before settling. As much as I agree with TWC and their efforts from not being "taken to the cleaners" by the networks, the only people hurt are the customers and the employees. Customers have to go without, or hook up rabbit ears to see their favorite shows, but a lot just switch providers. The loyalty is not there. AT&T is a viable threat to the cable industry and benefits each time there is a conflict with TWC and a network wanting more $$$$$. TWC may just have to suck it up to keep its customers from leaving in droves. They will not do without their American Idol and House come January 1.

Apple TV Service:
In case you have not heard, Apple is forming a TV service that will allow subscribers to access all network programming, anytime they want. Disney (ABC) and CBS & The CW are considering joining this service. The Major Nets would get about $2 - $4 per subscriber, smaller Cable nets between $1 - $2 per sub. Customers would pay about a $30 per month fee to access this service.
Could this service, if fully implemented, take down the Cable TV industry? Would APPLE TV consider an A La Carte system where you can pick & Chose your networks? Would you switch even if Apple TV does not have as many smaller cable channels to offer? I think this is a wait and see idea. But it would completely do away with the need for a Ratings system. The only stats would be downloads and Streams and a TV Schedule would be obsolete.
