1959 - The first telecast received from England was broadcast in the U.S. over NBC-TV.

2006 - Dan Rather's final CBS News report was aired on "CBS Sunday Morning."

I for one don't miss Dan Rather but CBS forcing him out was pretty low on their end. He was never the real problem. It was their poor management and inability to keep good reporters around that hurt their Evening News casts.
