ION Gets into Original Programming

ION will be picking up 3 original Canadian dramas over the next year. "Durham County" tells the tale of a homicide detective from Toronto (Hugh Dillon) who moves his family to Durham Country to start over after his partner is killed and his wife is diagnosed with breast cancer. But the situation gets even worse when he realizes his neighbor may be a serial killer.

The other two dramas, The Border and The Guard, will join the prime time lineup in 2010.

ION also announced that it has picked up Criminal Minds and Ghost Whisperer for next fall.

Despite a much weaker affiliate lineup, can ION out perform the newly downgraded network MyTV next fall?

  1. I doubt ION will be able to catch MNTV next year. 1 million people wont just start watching ION nightly. In 3-7 years when it develops more, it is possible. But in a way I see it as the CW-MNTV battle. MNTV is close, but its taking time.
