Preliminary Ratings: Thursday 09/04/2018

Week two of THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL on FOX won the night, averaging 9.6 million viewers and a 3.0 rating in Adults 18-49. Compared to last week's preliminary numbers, that is down a half million viewers and 10% in the demo.

CBS started the night off good, with THE BIG BANG THEORY leading off with 12 million viewers and a 2.2 rating in the A18-49 demographic. YOUNG SHELDON followed up with 10.6 million viewers and a 1.8 demo. At 9 PM, MOM retained 7.9 million viewers and a 1.3 demo. MURPHY BROWN stayed above seven million viewers, with 7.2 million, and a 1.0 demo rating, holding most of its premiere audience. Closing the night, SWAT attracted 5.3 million viewers and posted a 0.7 rating in the A18-49 demo. For the night, CBS averaged 8.1 million viewers and a 1.3 demographic rating, good for second place.

ABC was third on the night, averaging 4.9 million viewers and a 1.2 rating in Adults 18-49. GREY'S ANATOMY drew 6.5 million viewers and a 1.6 demo, at 8 PM. STATION 19 lost 1.3 million viewers and over 30% in the demo, at 9 PM, while HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER dropped and additional 2.2 million viewers and lost another 27% in the demo.

Over on NBC, the full Thursday night slate premiered. SUPERSTORE kicked things off 3.2 million viewers and a 0.9 demo rating, with THE GOOD PLACE, at 8:30 PM, holding the demo and losing just 200k in viewers. WILL & GRACE grew over its lead in to 3.9 million viewers and a 1.0 demo. New sitcom, I FEEL BAD lost 30% in the demo and a third of the total audience, from its lead in. A new LAW & ORDER: SVU pushed NBC to second place at 10 PM, drawing 4.2 million viewers and a 1.0 demo rating. NBC's nightly average was 3.5 million viewers and a 0.9 demographic rating.
