Preliminary Ratings: Sunday 09/23/2018

FOX kicked off its 2018-19 fall season a little early, as sophomore drama, 9-1-1, had its season premiere, on a special night. The episode collected 8.5 million viewers and a 2.3 rating in Adults 18-49. That bests the series premiere, back in January, by nearly two million viewers and a half a point in the key demographic. With football as the lead in and two comedy encore as the lead out, FOX averaged 8.2 million viewers and a 2.5 rating in the A18-49 demographic.

Sunday Night Football led NBC to a night win, as the game drew 17.2 million viewers and a 5.7 rating in Adults 18-49. NBC averaged 14.5 million viewers and a 4.6 rating in the demo.

CBS was third on the night, with BIG BROTHER and 60 MINUTES posting A18-49 ratings over a 1.0. 60 MINUTES began the night with a 1.1 rating, and 8.8 million viewers. BIG BROTHER retained 5.5 million viewers, but grew the demo to a 1.3 rating. Drama encores closed out the back half of the night, placing CBS with an average of 5.3 million viewers and a 0.8 demo rating.

ABC was last on the night, averaging under four million viewers and a 0.6 demo rating. The season finale of CELEBRITY FAMILY FEUD fell to a 0.6 demo and 4.1 million viewers. The final two hour of $100,000 PYRAMID averaged 0.6 in the demo and 3.8 million viewers.
