With most of its regular series in original episodes and a primetime NFL playoff game and CBS sweeps the week in the ratings. The network pushed 18 shows into the top 30, including NCIS (#5) with 14.2 million viewers and YOUNG SHELDON (#6), also with 14.2 million. Saturday night's NFL game ranked second, with 26.7 million viewers.
FOX tied CBS in the younger A18-34 demographic and second in the other three categories, mostly on the shoulders of the NFL overrun run game, on Sunday evening. THe Vikings vs Saints game delivered 35.6 million viewers for 80 minutes of primetime and pumped up the demo numbers of its Sunday night comedies. Just three FOX shows made the top 30, the NFL game, the post game (#3) and THE SIMPSONS (#16).
ABC and NBC tied for third place, with both networks posting the same averages in the three demographic ratings. NBC drew slight more total viewers and had six shows in the top 30, to just three by ABC.
