Primetime Cable Ratings: September 9, 2017

Hurricane Irma hit land fall Saturday and US viewers were glues to The Weather Channel to get the latest news. Instead of looking at all of cable TV on the day, we will focus on TWC and below, you see the hour by hour chart of how the cable network performed, on the first day of the event.

For the whole day, TWC averaged 2.85 million viewers and a 0.62 rating in the A18-49 demographic. The most watched hour was 10 AM, with just over 3.8 million viewers and a 0.85 demo rating. The A50+ rating for the hour was a 2.3 rating.

Outside of the weather event, there were two ESPN college football games that drew 2.3 million viewers, at noon, and 3.4 million viewers at 6 PM, within the top 10.
