Preliminary Ratings: Thursdays 03/30/2017

ABC and CBS split leadership on Thursday night, with ABC having the advantage in the younger A18-34 and A18-49 demographics, while CBS, back with its regular line up, drew more viewers and was #1 in the A25-54 demo.

For CBS, it had the season premiere of THE AMAZING RACE, which had a soft launch, in the ratings, drawing just 4.4 million viewers and a 0.9 rating in Adults 18-49. From its LIFE IN PIECES lead in, TAR dropped 1.2 million viewers and near 20% drop in the A18-49 demo. But, the reality program did win its 10 PM time slot, against weak competition.

ABC did win the 8 PM hour, in the demographic ratings, as GREY'S ANATOMY won the A18-34 demo, 1.3 to 1.1 ratings, and the A18-49 demo 2.1 to 1.9. It helped that THE BIG BANG THEORY had its lowest ratings of the season. THE CATCH still hurts the night, dropping 50% of its lead in numbers, from SCANDAL. No season three renewal for THE CATCH.

NBC, FOX and The CW were bunched up together, with FOX and NBC tying in the demos. SUPER NATURAL came close to beating the NBC comedies, at 8 PM. FOX's KICKING & SCREAMING are making the numbers from MY KITCHEN RULES look half-way decent.
