EMPIRE draws in the younger viewers, posting a 2.1 rating in the A18-34 demo and a 2.4 rating in the A18-49 demo. ABC's line up was back in all-originals and was in second place, across the board. MODERN FAMILY was the only other show, outside of EMPIRE, to post a 2.0, or better, in the A18-49 demographic.
CBS was a competitive third place, edging out NBC for the spot. SURVIVOR was the most watched show of the night, collecting 8.2 million viewers, plus a 1.8 rating in the demo. The two CRIMINAL MINDS series are not showing any reason why CBS should renew either of them. CRIMINAL MINDS, at 9 PM, is showing its age and may have lost one too many original cast member with Thomas Gibson gone from the show, earlier this season. CM: BEYOND BORDERS has yet to show any life and consistently places third in its time slot.
With no crossovers or special episodes, NBC's crime drama line up was a decent 4th place on the night. CHICAGO PD did top the 10 PM time slot, edging out DESIGNATED SURVIVOR.
