Preliminary Ratings: Sunday 01/29/2017

With the whole night devoted to the MISS UNIVERSE PAGEANT, FOX takes the night in the three younger age demographic ratings. MISS UNIVERSE posted the best ratings in the A18-34 and A18-49 demos, with a 1.1 and 1.5 rating, respectively, but was #3 overall for the 25-54 demo. Compared to the last Miss Universe Pageant, airing on Dec. 20, 2015, the ratings are off by 400,000 total viewers, 21% in the A18-34 demographic and 7% in the A18-49 demo.

The regular CBS Sunday lineup was back with new episodes and pushed the network to the most watched of the night.  60 MINUTES and the NCIS: LA were the two most watched programs of the night, and the only two to draw over 10 million viewers. The two series were also the only programs at or above a 2.0 rating in Adults 25-54.

ABC was in third place, mainly because of the low ratings CONVICTION hauled in at 10 PM. The first year series was the lowest rated new program of the night, beating only the repeat of THE CELEBRITY APPRENTICE, on NBC.

NBC, with two hours of repeat APPRENTICE and two hours of DATELINE, afterwards, was fourth place, across the board.
