Preliminary Ratings: Thursday 12/23/2016

The last Thursday before christmas was filled with repeats from four of the five broadcast networks. NBC had its last Thursday Night game and dominated the night with 12.6 million viewers and a 3.3 A18-49 demographic ratings, averaged on the night. With rumors of the NFL cutting or downsizing the Thursday night package, TNF may be dead for the broadcast networks.

Over on ABC, the Christmas classic, A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS and a new episode of THE GREAT AMERICAN BAKING SHOW pushed the network to second place on the night. This was the second airing for the PEANUTS special, which drew 5.5 million viewers and a 1.2 demo rating. That is down from the December 1st airing by 900,000 viewers and 20% in the demo. GABS held it own, against the reruns and is up, slightly, week-to-week.

CBS was all-encore on the night, but challenged ABC for 2nd place on the night. FOX was 4th with a double-shot of HELL'S KITCHEN encores.
