Preliminary Ratings: Thursday 10/06/2016

After a week off the network, THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL was back on CBS, but was severely down from its previous network airing, two weeks earlier. The 8.1 million viewers and 2.5 rating in Adults 18-49 is down about five million viewers and 42% in the A18-49 demo, from the game on September 22. Between the unknown IF the game was on CBS this week and the start of the AL Divisional Series, on TBS, TNF took a big hit this week.

GREY'S ANATOMY was the night's most watched program, collecting 8.3 million viewers, but was not enough to overcome the low numbers NOTORIOUS and HTGAWM drew afterwards. NOTORIOUS lost 67% of its lead in A18-49 audience and was tied for 4th place in the 9 PM hour. I fully expect a move soon, by ABC on the series.

NBC was surprisingly competitive on the night and the comedies are keeping pace with the competition. The night is even, from 8 PM to 11 PM. Of course, this may only last until CBS brings BIG BANG and the other comedies back to the night, in late October.

FOX still struggles on the night pulling the lowest numbers of each hour.
