Top 15 Cable Sports Events: August 13 - 14, 2016

The Olympics was not the only game in town, this past weekend, as NFL Preseason football topped cable coverage of the the Rio Summer Games. The Cowboys vs Rams games, on ESPN, drew 3.2 million viewers on Saturday night, close to doubling the #2 spots event, Olympics on NBCSN, on Sunday afternoon. The NFL match up also posted the best A18-49 ratings, with a 1.1 score.

A classic rivalry game in Major League Baseball pushed the ESPN Sunday Night Game to the #3 spot. The Cubs vs Cardinals collected 1.6 million viewers. A late rally by Sta. Louis may have helped keep viewers into the game, instead of clicking over late in the evening.
