Preliminary Ratings: Monday 08/08/2016

The third night of the Rio Olympic games drew 28.8 million viewers and a 8.5 rating in Adults 18-49. That is down just 1.8 million viewers from the first Monday of the 2012 games, but the A18-49 demographic is off by 20%. We'll see if/when online viewing numbers are released, if they make up the difference between 2012 and 2016 viewership.

The first Monday night edition of BACHELOR IN PARADISE nearly equalled its season premiere, last Tuesday night. The summer reality series collected 4.5 million viewers and a 1.1 rating in Adults 18-34. MISTRESSES was down, drawing just 2.1 million viewers, last in the 10 PM slot. The ABC summer drama even lost to an encore of SCORPION, on CBS, in the demographic ratings.

FOX, CBS and The CW were all in encores, with the Olympics in full swing.
