Preliminary Ratings: Thursday 04/14/2016

With Back-to-back episodes of GREY'S ANATOMY, ABC takes the Thursday night ratings. The veteran drama scored an average of 8 million viewers and a 2.2 rating in Adults 18-49, over the two hours. With BIG BANG airing an encore, that make GREY'S the #1 show of the night. THE CATCH didn't do anything to capitalize on the stronger lead in, losing 9% in the A18-49 demo, from last week's rating.

The long running FOX drama BONES returned from its winter hiatus, finishing third in the hour, topping NBC's STRONG, in the 8 PM hour. This is on par with the fall finale, back in early December. The new series, AMERICAN GRIT is a bust from the start. Losing nearly half of the total viewers from BONES. I did hold the A18-34 demographic, but dropped 112% in the A18-49 demo and 23% in the A25-54 demo.

For CBS, placing second on the night, the comedies were very consistent through the night. all four shows posted a 0.8 rating in Adults 18-34 and a 1.5 rating in the A18-49 demo. A good sign for THE ODD COUPLE, who is fighting for a third season renewal.

NBC's new Thursday night lineup didn't do much to change the outcome in the ratings. The 8 PM hour, with STRONG, is extremely weak and the new 10 PM drama lost nearly 40% of its A18-49 demographic lead in. Both new shows were last in the A18-34 demographic, by a Big 4 network.
