Preliminary Ratings: Thursday 10/15/15

CBS did sweep the Thursday night ratings, but for the second week in a row, it had a tough time drawing strong NFL ratings. Total viewership for the game equaled last week' preliminary numbers, with the three demo categories rising slightly over last week. Of course, it didn't help that the LA and NY markets were more interested in Game five of the NLDS, between the Mets and Dodgers.

Overall, ABC was down from last week, but the ratings were more evenly distributed. Just three tenths of a ratings point separated the three Dramas, in the A18-49 demographic ratings.

THE ORIGINALS, on the CW, saw a very welcomed rise in the ratings, but it could be an unfiltered preliminary rating. The NLDS could have aired locally on the CW affiliate, since the game was broadcast on a cable network. Any New Yorkers know if this is true?

FOX and NBC tried their hardest to do worse in the the ratings than the other network. The pulled near identical numbers, with NBC having a slightly better viewership total and A18-49 demo. FOX's line up feels old and outdated, while NBC is just airing two shows no one is really interested in. Only THE BLACKLIST stands out, but is sinking with the Thursday night ship.
