Ratings Review: HUMANS (Season One)

HUMANS, the new AMC series, via the UK, started off with relatively good numbers, approaching two million viewers for the premiere. But after the sampling, the numbers fell by a third and stayed there for most of the first season's run. It may have been a mistake for AMC to renew the series for a second season, but, historically, the network has been patient with most of its series, that start slow in the ratings.

The Live+SD ratings average, for HUMANS, were 1.19 million viewers, a 0.2 rating in Adults 18-34, a 0.4 rating in Adults 18-49 and a 0.5 rating in Adults 25-54. The series does appeal to the older demographics.

The DVR ratings were mediocre, at best. Most L+3 ratings only added two tenths of a point to the A18-49 demographic, with an additional tenth for the L+7 numbers. Total viewership may have added 800,000, perhaps less, as the season progressed.
