Ratings Review: HALT & CATCH FIRE (Season Two)

HALT & CATCH FIRE is the new poster child as AMC's most hyped series, with ultra-low ratings. The series is almost aways near the bottom of the charts, when the daily finals are released, and most of the 0.2 demo ratings reported, are round up to the nearest tenth of a point. With ratings this low, you would think it was a Showtime series and not an AMC series.

In the Live+SD ratings, HALT & CATCH FIRE averaged 520,000 viewers and a 0.17 rating in Adults 18-49. The daily ratings were never high enough for us to get the other demographic ratings, but given the total viewership levels, I would suspect the A18-34 rating in a little lower than the A18-49 demo, and the A25-54 a little higher.

The series is not a must watch, of the DVR, either. The A18-49 ratings usually ad just another tenth of a point, within the 7 day viewing window. Occasionally, you might see a two tenths rise in the category. The series has not yet been renewed, and I would say it is hard to predict which direction AMC will go. Recently TURN was given a 3rd season order, but only with slight higher numbers.
