Ratings Review: THE ORIGINALS (Season Two)

Season two of THE ORIGINALS did stumble in the ratings, but what show didn't? The move to Mondays, from Tuesdays, did lose viewers, but it did help strengthen Monday night from being the weakest, to right there, somewhere in the middle.

In the Live+SD ratings, THE ORIGINALS averaged 1.20 million viewers and a 0.5 rating in Adults 18-49, for the 27 airings, including five encores. Take out the repeats and the averages rise to 1.31 million viewers and a 0.6 demo rating.

By the Live+7 ratings period, the averages totaled 2.12 million viewers (+62%) and a 1.1 rating in Adults 18-49 (+83%). Next season's paring with the parent series, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES should see the numbers at least stabilize, if not begin to reverse course.
