Ratings Review: GOTHAM (Season One)

With a glut of superhero and comic book based TV series airing across the airwaves and cable spectrums, GOTHAM found a fresh telling the BATMAN story, in GOTHAM.

The series started off well for FOX, glowing as one of the very few successes this past TV season. Over six million viewers tuned in, with another four million being added within  seven days of release. In November, the 30 Day Multi-Platform audience of the season (15.9 Mil), more than doubling its average Live + Same Day audience over 30 days (up +135%) On Fox.com, Hulu and VOD Days 4+ alone, GOTHAM draws an average 3.3 million viewers over its first 30 days.

What hurt GOTHAM, in the spring, was trying to stretch the series' finale date to May, when it didn't have the episode scheduling to support it. The two 5-week stretches of only encores being aired, noticeably affected the series ratings.

For the season, GOTHAM averaged 5.07 million viewers and a 1.8 rating in Adults 18-49, in the Live+SD ratings. That includes 8 encores within the 30 airings. In the Live+& ratings, Gotham added an additional 4.5 million viewers (+89%) and the A18-49 ratings rose to a 3.7 (+109%)
