Ratings Review: AMERICAN IDOL (Season 14)

The 14th season of AMERICAN IDOL started out with relatively strong ratings, for FOX, but about a third of the season in, viewership began to drop off. From threes, to twos on ones, in the demo, AI is nothing close to the dominate show it once was. But, it is fitting that FOX will give it one last season, for 2016.

The Live+SD ratings for AMERICAN IDOL, averaged 9.42 million viewers and a 2.3 rating in Adults 18-49. It ranked in the low 30s, for the season, in the A18-49 ratings, for the two nights it would air. In total viewership, it ranked in the mid-30s, between the two nights. The Live+3 ratings would add on a little more than a million viewers and up the A18-49 ratings by about a half a point. The numbers would add an additional half million, or so, in the Live+7 ratings.
