Ratings Review: GALAVANT (Season One)

If you blinked during the month of January, you might have missed the mid-season series, GALAVANT. It aired all eight episodes within a 21 day window, while ONCE UPON A TIME was in hiatus.

The comedy aired in one hour blocks, on Sundays at 8 p.m. Each week, two episodes would air, back-to-back. It got off to a promising start, with a decent 7.4 million viewers and a 2.0 demo rating, but viewers must not have liked what they sampled and the audience was cut in half, by the third week.

For the abbreviated season, GALAVANT averaged 4.83 million viewers and a 1.3 rating in Adults 18-49. I would not expect ABC to bring the series back for a second season. but, we have seen series with worse ratings, return to the airwaves, more than once.
